Lallana set for new deal, Klopp hints

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has hinted that Adam Lallana is set to sign a four-year, £150,000-a-week deal at the club later this month.

Lallana's current deal is worth £75,000-a-week and runs until the summer of 2019, but the new contract would double the 28-year-old's current wages and run until 2021.

"I am happy you think we should keep some of our players. We will see," he told a news conference ahead of Tuesday's Premier League game against Chelsea at Anfield.

Liverpool have arranged for a private jet to fly striker Sadio Mane back from Africa Cup Of Nations duty with Senegal in time for the match against the Premier League leaders, which will be shown live on BT Sport 1 (kick off 20:00 GMT).

The Reds, who lie 10 points behind Antonio Conte's side in the table, will check on Mane's fitness before deciding whether he will feature at Anfield.

The club did an outstanding job to bring him back as soon as possible and he is now on his way," he said.

"We thought it would be possible yesterday: we had a plane there but he wasn't allowed to go on the plane so we had to wait.

"He will be here tonight but I spoke to him and it's all good so far. He will be in tomorrow morning and we have to make a decision."

Mane missed the crucial penalty as Senegal lost 5-4 on penalties to Cameroon in the quarter-final on Saturday night.

Liverpool have won only one game since Mane left for international duty following the 2-2 draw at Sunderland on 2 January.
