Late Kane double breaks Hammers hearts

Harry Kane struck twice in the last three minutes to break West Ham hearts as Spurs beat their bitter London rivals 3-2 at White Hart Lane.

Michail Antonio's first-half header and a penalty from Manuel Lanzini had put West Ham 2-1 up and they looked destined to secure their fourth league win of the season before Kane's late intervention.

The England striker swept home from close range substitute Son Heung-Min's delivery, while two minutes later the South Korean was brought down in the area by Havard Nordtveit and Kane coolly tucked away the resulting penalty with aplomb.

20-year-old Harry Winks had equalised for Mauricio Pochettino's side on his full Premier League debut - the first player to achieve the feat since Eric Dier against the same opponents in August 2014 - but Lanzini's penalty - awarded after Vincent Janssen pulled back Winston Reid in the area - put the Hammers back in front.

Antonio gave West Ham the lead in familiar fashion on 24 minutes, with his 11th headed Premier League goal of 2016.

Cheikhou Kouyate saw his own header following a Payet corner thud against the crossbar, but Winston Reid kept the move alive with a floated cross from the right-hand edge of the area, and Antonio bundled his own team-mate Andre Ayew out of the way for his sixth league goal of the season.

Tottenham, who had an early Christian Eriksen strike correctly chalked off for offside, almost levelled just before the break, but the Dane was brilliantly shepherded off the ball by Aaron Cresswell as he tried to turn home Danny Rose's cross-shot.

Lanzini's penalty put Slaven Bilic's side ahead for the second time after Winks had levelled matters but although they looked like holding on for a famous win, Kane's late, late show sent them home empty-handed.
