Ledley makes Wales cut

Joe Ledley has been included in the Wales squad for Euro 2016.

The Crystal Palace player missed the FA Cup final defeat to Manchester United after fracturing his fibula during the win over Stoke, but he has been named in the 23-man squad for next month's finals in France.

Manager Chris Coleman was pleased with his progress during the five-day training camp in Portugal and is hopeful he will be fit for his side's opener against Slovakia on June 11.

"Joe looks very good," said Coleman. "He trained on the grass in Portugal, albeit with the medical team, but he played a huge part in the campaign and is a big part of this team.

"The work he has put in is incredible and he looks good. With the injury he has had he is ahead of his work in his rehab.

"We will assess him and we will know more in the next week. But at the moment I think he has a good chance of playing against Slovakia."

Gareth Bale has also been declared fit after joining up with his team-mates in the wake of Real Madrid's Champions League win over Atletico Madrid on Saturday.

"We watched the game and he looked fantastic," said Coleman.

"He was limping a bit, but he is great physically.

"It's all positive for us because Gareth will be in a good frame of mind and we're looking forward to having him with us.

"We have to get to Gareth's level as best as we can, we've got some top players like Rambo (Ramsey), "Ashley Williams and Joe Allen but we've got good players behind them.

"This is the next challenge for us, for Gareth as well, because what we've done getting there has gone."

Midfielders: Joe Allen, Joe Ledley, Aaron Ramsey, Andy King, David Edwards, Jonny Williams, David Vaughan, George Williams.
