Barclays Premier League champions Leicester have made their first signing of the close season with the arrival of goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler from Hannover 96.
The 27-year-old German international, who was part of the squad that won the World Cup in Brazil two years ago, has signed a four-year contract at the King Power Stadium.
Zieler has made over 200 appearances for Hannover 96 and has been an ever-present in their last five Bundesliga campaigns. he also has six caps for his country.
He was previously on the books at Manchester United alongside Foxes players such as Danny Simpson, Danny Drinkwater, Ritchie De Laet and Matty James.
With Leicester set to take part in the Champions League for the first time in their history, Zieler will add much-needed depth to Claudio Ranieri's squad and will provide strong competition for current incumbent Kaspar Schmeichel.
''It feels great coming to Leicester and joining the club after they've had such a great season - it's really nice to be part of the club now," Zieler told Leicester's official website, lcfc.com.
''I've been shown around the training ground and it looks very good and I've been to the stadium - I heard about the great atmosphere and the great fans, so my first impression is very good.''
