Leicester City have signed Wilfred Ndidi from Genk in a £15m deal, subject to the Nigeria midfielder being granted a work permit.
The 20-year-old, who can also play at right-back, will be available immediately his work visa comes through, as Nigeria did not qualify for this January's African Cup of Nations.
Ndidi, who has agreed a five-year contract, is seen as a long-term replacement for N'Golo Kante, who joined Chelsea from Leicester this summer.
He was signed by then Genk manager Alex McLeish from Nathaniel Boys of Lagos as a 18-year-old, and made his debut in the Belgian League in January 2015.
Ndidi, who helped Genk reach the knockout stages of this season's Europa League. will be available to play in the Champions League for Leicester.
"Ndidi is expected to complete the formalities of his move to Leicester City later this week," a Leicester club statement read.
