Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has poured cold water on rumours that he could be on the brink of a move to Spanish giants Barcelona.
The Swedish international, who joined United from Benfica in 2017, struggled initially but enjoyed an excellent season in 2018-19 and was second only to David De Gea in the club’s Player of the Season nominations.
His excellent form led to talk of a Barcelona move, with his agent Hasan Cetinkaya suggesting that a move was imminent.
However, he has dismissed the rumour and insisted that he is happy at Old Trafford.
"I'm very, very happy to be a Manchester United player," Lindelof said. "I'm excited for the new season to start. That's my answer. I'm very happy here."
"It's my third season here now, I've been through it. I know what it is to sign for this club and to play for it, and of course to get a little bit of criticism sometimes. That's part of the game."
