Hugo Lloris has given Tottenham Hotspur a huge boost by agreeing to extend his contract until 2022.
The France international goalkeeper's future has been the subject of speculation intermittently over the last couple of seasons with a move to replace David de Gea at Manchester United particularly prominent during the summer of 2015.
De Gea's move fell through and Lloris stayed at White Hart Lane and although various moves such as to Real Madrid have been mooted, the 29-year-old has now ended doubts about his long-term future by committing to the north London club.
The former Lyon number one had been in talks with the Spurs board for more than a month over a new deal, but has signed a new deal.
Lloris moved from France in 2012 and has been a huge success in the Premier League, making 189 appearances to-date while he helped Spurs to a club record low of 35 goals last campaign as they narrowly failed to win a first top flight crown since 1961.
