Shane Long hit out at referee Cuneyt Cakir for his failure to award a penalty after the Republic of Ireland striker appeared to be kicked in the head against Belgium.
The Southampton striker challenged for Robbie Brady's inviting cross into the penalty area but appeared to be caught by a high challenge from Thomas Vermaelen.
While the Irish players appealed for a penalty, Belgium broke at pace to launch an attack which led to Romelu Lukaku's opening goal.
Long was left fuming at the decision and feels that it could have a major influence on the Republic's EURO 2016 fate.
"I can't really say what I really want to say because I'll probably get myself in trouble," he said afterwards.
"It's just disappointing. Anywhere else on the pitch you might get a free-kick. The fact that they broke and scored as well makes it a little bit harder to take.
"He [the referee] obviously thought there was nothing there. He must have thought I was diving or something.
"I can't really say what he was thinking because the pictures speak for themselves."
