Low: Gotze should leave Bayern

Germany coach Joachim Low has encouraged Mario Gotze to leave Bayern Munich in the summer.

Gotze has struggled for game time under Pep Guardiola this season and has been linked with former club Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and Liverpool.

Although Guardiola will be replaced by Carlo Ancelotti at the Allianz Arena after the DFB Pokal final, Low believes Gotze would benefit from moving away from Bayern

"Generally I say sometimes a change can put more forces free - a new environment, new challenges, new stimuli," Low told Suddeutsche Zeitung.

"Look at the development of Toni Kroos. At Bayern he was great; in Madrid he has made a leap yet again.

"Gotze needs a coach who wants to have him in his team. But that is not a criticism of Bayern, certainly not to Pep Guardiola."
