Luiz excited by Chelsea return

David Luiz is delighted to be back at Chelsea and has set his sights on helping the Blues win the Premier League title this season.

Luiz's return to Stamford Bridge was one of the biggest surprises on transfer deadline day as he re-signed for the club in a £34million deal just over two years after he left for Paris Saint-Germain.

During his previous spell at Chelsea, Luix won the Champions League and FA Cup in 2012 before adding the Europa League the following season and he did not hesitate when the Blues expressed an interest in re-signing him.

"It was my decision, yes. I really wanted to come back because I spent an amazing time here. I loved to be here and that is why I want to come back," Luiz told the club's official website.

Despite enjoying success in Europe, Luiz does not have a Premier League medal and he is eager to add the title to his list of honours.

"It is time to do it! And I hope it will be this year. I am working hard for that and this is our goal this season. We don’t have the Champions League to fight for so for sure we will try to win the Premier League and both cups," he said.

Luiz has traditionally been selected at centre-back but the 29-year-old is happy to play wherever Antonio Conte askes.

"I started playing three at the back with Vitoria in Brazil, but it doesn't matter where, I want to help and when I am in the team I am there to try to help," he explained.

"The coach is an amazing coach, he understands a lot of tactical things and I know he chooses every match the best line up, so if he needs to play three, four or two, it doesn't matter, I am there if he wants me to play. In different positions I am available."
