Luiz returns to Chelsea

Brazil defender signs three-year contract

Chelsea have re-signed Brazilian international defender David Luiz from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Blues agreed terms with the French champions that will see the 29-year-old return to Stamford Bridge, two years after he left the West London club in a £50m deal.

He travelled to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday to undergo a medical before signing a three-year contract with Antonio Conte's side.

"I'm delighted to return to Chelsea. We had a fantastic story during my first time at the club and I want to help the team and Antonio Conte achieve a lot of success," Luiz told the club's website.

"I always had a wonderful relationship with the fans and I am looking forward to wearing the blue shirt at Stamford Bridge once again."

Luiz won the Champions League in 2012 and the Europa League the following year in a three-year spell at Chelsea, where he made 143 appearances in all competitions, scoring 12 goals.

In his two years in Paris, he won two Ligue 1 titles, two French Cup and two French League Cups.
