Pep Guardiola says Manchester City are unlikely to be big players in the January transfer window.
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss, who has spent around £170m since replacing Manuel Pellegrini in the summer, is satisfied with his current squad and has no plans to bring in any new names in January, despite Ilkay Gundogan's potentially season-ending injury.
Guardiola has already sanctioned the a £27million signing of Brazil forward Jesus, 19, in January after City agreed a deal with Palmeiras in the summer.
"I’m happy with what we have, I have confidence in the players," the Spaniard said ahead of the St Stephen's Day visit to Hull.
"I’m not saying we won’t do anything in the window, you never know what might happen in a week or two, but at the moment we have no plans for a major signing. We can work with what we have and if we finish the season with these players that will be good.”
Sergio Aguero will miss the match at the KCOM Stadium as he completes the last match of his ban, while fellow Argentine Pablo Zabaleta will have a late fitness test on the knee injury he sustained in Sunday's win over Arsenal.
Gundogan, who is expected to be out for the rest of the season after suffering cruciate ligament damage against Watford last week, wrote on Instagram on Friday afternoon that his operation has been a success.
"I'm doing well and today's surgery went fine. Now it's another road to recovery," the German wrote.
