Manchester United have finally reached an agreement for the sale of Memphis Depay to French club Olympique Lyonnais (Lyon).
After protracted negotiations, the 20-time Premier League champions have sealed a deal which will be an initial £16m, potentially rising to £21.7m, with the add-ons including Lyon qualifying for the Champions League and also on the Dutch international signing a second contract with the Ligue Un club.
It is believed Utd have included sell-on clauses and a buy-back option.
The 22-year-old joined the Old Trafford club in the summer of 2015 for an initial fee of £25m, with a series of add-ons potentially increasing the deal to £31m. However, many of these are understood to not have been met.
The former PSV Eindhoven winger impressed sporadically in the first period after arriving in England but his inconsistent performances saw him fall out of favour with then-manager Louis Van Gaal and Depay failed to even make the bench for Utd's FA Cup final triumph in May.
Presented with a fresh start under new boss Jose Mourinho, Depay made just eight appearances and failed to show any signs of improvement, only featuring for a miserable eight minutes of first-team action since October.
He follows fellow summer of 2015 signing Morgan Schneiderlin out of the exit door with the France international having moved to Everton last week for a fee rising to £24m as Mourinho attempts to move on a number of Van Gaal's expensive transfer mistakes.
