Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Luke Shaw, Ashley Young and Marcos Rojo will all miss the start of the new Premier League season.
Left-back Shaw suffered foot ligament damage to his foot in the goalless draw with Swansea City on 30 April, Young injured his hamstring in the Europa League semi-final 1-0 first-leg victory over Celta Vigo on 4 May, while Rojo sustained knee ligament damage against Anderlecht in the Europa League quarter-final on 20 April.
"They have no chance for the beginning of the Premier League season," the Portuguese said.
"Luke Shaw is the first one to recover, Marcos will be last and Ash will be in between. Luke is September, Young is October and Rojo is December, or maybe January.
"The group is really strong and it’s good to be together. It’s important for them to be with us and not be in Manchester working at home."
Mourinho also confirmed that Ander Herrera suffered a "very painful" knock in Sunday's pre-season match against Real Madrid.
The Spaniard was hurt in a challenge with Real Madrid midfielder Oscar, and limped off after just six minutes of second-half action in the 1-1 draw in Santa Clara, which was won by United on a penalty shoot-out.
"For Ander to come out it has to be very painful," he continued.
"I want to wait and see what it is but I say to the players no risk in friendly matches. If you feel something, if you feel that something is coming, sometimes a little muscular injury, get out, the result is not important.
"But he was very painful, it was in front of the bench, I think, it was a bad contact, maybe ribs, I don't know, maybe muscle, I don't know."
