Martin Storey departs Wicklow post

Martin Storey has stepped down from his role as manager of Wicklow’s senior hurling squad.
The former Wexford player cited work and family commitments for his decision to step down when he informed the Wicklow Board of his decision earlier this week.
The All-Ireland winner spent one year in charge of the Garden County’s hurling side as they survived relegation scares in both the Allianz League and Christy Ring Cup.
Wicklow chairman Martin Coleman revealed that the search was on to find an immediate replacement for Storey, with former star Jonathan O’Neill who guided the county to All-Ireland Under-21 B glory last year the clear front runner.
