Stoke have signed defender Bruno Martins Indi on loan from Porto for the remainder of the season, with a view to making it a permanent deal in the summer.
Martins Indi moves to the Premier League after two years at Porto during which time he made 71 appearances in all competitions.
"We have been aware of Bruno for quite some time now, as many other clubs around Europe have been," Stoke manager Mark Hughes said.
"He is a very accomplished defender who has a lot of experience at a very high level, including playing for Holland during their good run at the 2014 World Cup.
"He is a guy that we feel can come in and make an immediate impression, because he boasts all the attributes needed to perform at the top level of the Premier League."
Martins Indi becomes the club's third signing of transfer deadline day following the arrival of Wilfried Bony and Lee Grant.
