Javier Mascherano has agreed a new deal to remain at Barcelona.
The Argentina international, who joined Barcelona from Liverpool in 2010, had been linked with a summer move to Juventus, but he has agreed a new and improved three-year deal to remain at the Nou Camp.
"We don't have to talk about him. The club announces that we have reached an agreement to improve his contract in the next three seasons with a better one," Barcelona's director of institutional relations Albert Soler revealed.
"It was one of the issues that we had left."
Mascherano has played 282 games for Barcelona, winning four La Liga titles and two Champions League medals in his six years at the club.
