Mauro Zarate joins Fiorentina

Striker moved to Hammers from Velez Sarsfield in 2014

Mauro Zarate has completed his move from West Ham to Fiorentina for a fee in the region of £1.6m.

The striker moved to Upton Park from Velez Sarsfield in the summer of 2014, but he struggled to break into the Hammers team and spent time on loan with QPR last season.

Zarate scored five goals in 21 appearances this season, but he failed to break into Slaven Bilics’ first-team and his departure is expected to signal the arrival of another striker.

"West Ham would like to thank Mauro for his efforts in claret and blue and wish him all the best in his future career," said a Hammers statement.
