Walter Mazzarri admits Watford are struggling with a mounting injury list after Juan Zuniga limped out of the warm-up before Sunday's 4-1 defeat to Tottenham.
Harry Kane and Dele Alli each netted twice, as Mauricio Pochettino's side cruised to victory at Vicarage Road on Sunday, but Watford manager Mazzarri says he is struggling to deal with injuries to key players.
Daryl Janmaat, Valon Behrami, Roberto Pereyra, Isaac Success, Stefano Okaka and Adrian Mariappa were all injured for the match against Spurs, while Ben Watson was unavailable because of a family illness and Miguel Britos was suspended.
"Zuniga was the tenth player to get injured, five or six are from our starting 11," he told BBC Sport.
"We had four under-23s in the 18 players that we brought today. Unfortunately this is the situation."
The Italian says he may need to reinforce the squad in January, following a run of five defeats in seven Premier League games.
"The January transfer window is always very difficult, but on top of that, it is very important to bring back those injured players," he said.
"But we will see if that is something we need to do, especially with the [injury] situation we have."
Hornets' midfielder Adlene Guedioura apologised to the supporters after the defeat, and says Watford need to improve against Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium on Tuesday.
"It is embarrassing to lose like that," he told Sky Sports News.
"I want to apologise to all the fans who were there today because it was not acceptable. It's difficult when you have a small squad but we have players who have to step up."
