Tyrone's Cathal McCarron has announced his retirement from inter-county football.
McCarron won an All-Ireland SFC title with Tyrone in 2008 and was a key member of the side that were crowned Ulster champions in 2017.
Nominated for an All-Star in three occasions, McCarron has struggled with injury in recent seasons, he missed most of last year's championship after sustaining a knee injury, and he has decided the time is right to bring the curtain down on his inter-county career.
"It's never easy to say goodbye, but I feel the time is right for me now. With the injury and the travelling, It has been getting harder and harder," McCarron posted on Instagram.
"I wanted to take this time to thank all the GAA community that supporters me through the tough times and the good times.
"It's been an incredible journey and I have some unbelievable memories that I will never forget.
"It's time now to sit in the stand again and watch Tyrone win another All-Ireland and more importantly spending more time with the family and enjoy some club football."
