Richie McCaw has backed Connacht's Bundee Aki to become a New Zealand international.
Aki played for Super Rugby outfit the Chiefs before relocating to Ireland to join up with Connacht.
All Black legend McCaw believes that the inside centre has a future with the New Zealand national team.
“It would be quite good for him to come home because I always thought that when he left, if he’d carried on playing the way he is over here, he would have been knocking on the door as an All Black,” McCaw told RTE Sport.
“I don’t think he was going to be that far off so we might have to knock on his door and get him back home.”
Aki was thought unlikely to feature in a Pro12 showdown against league leaders Glasgow at the Galway Sportsgrounds on Saturday, but has overcome a knee injury in time to face the Scottish side.
