McGrath and Leavy return for Leinster

Leinster have been boosted by the return of Ireland internationals Luke McGrath and Dan Leavy for Friday's Guinness PRO14 clash against Edinburgh.

McGrath has not played since suffering a knee injury against Toulouse in January but he is fit again and will take his place at scrum-half, while openside flanker Leavy makes his return from the calf injury that has kept him sidelined since December.

Head coach Leo Cullen is also able to call on Joe Tomane, who has recovered from a hamstring injury sooner than expected, who will start in the centre alongside Noel Reid.

Academy player Ciarán Frawley will make his first start at full-back, while Barry Daly and Fergus McFadden take their place on the wings. McGrath, meanwhile, is joined in the half-back line by Ross Byrne.

Sean Cronin is named at hooker after being dropped from the Ireland squad for the last two Six Nations games and he is joined in the front row by Ed Byrne and Michael Bent.

Josh Murphy and Mick Kearney will combine in the engine room with Rhys Ruddock set to captain the side from the back row alongside Leavy and Max Deegan.

Leinster (XV v Edinburgh): C Frawley; F McFadden, N Reid, J Tomane, B Daly; R Byrne, L McGrath; E Byrne, S Cronin, M Bent, J Murphy, M Kearney, R Ruddock, D Leavy, M Deegan.

Replacements: B Byrne, J McGrath, A Porter, J Dunne. O Dowling, N McCarthy, J O'Brien, C O'Brien.
