Jose Mourinho believes that the Manchester United players are still adjusting to life after Louis Van Gaal.
The Dutchman gained notoriety for the 'philosophy' he implemented during his two years at Old Trafford, insisting on players always taking a touch before shooting and attempting to 're-programme' them to play in a certain structured, risk-averse way.
Mourinho has enjoyed a decent start overall but came under pressure after his side lost three games in-a-row but after watching them thump Leicester City 4-1 in the early Saturday kick-off, the Portuguese tried to explain why his methods will take time to be fully implemented.
“Myself and Mr Van Gaal think about football in a different way so it is normal that in their football brains there is still moments of contradiction about what they used to do and what I want them to do," he said.
“In the recent past the players were not successful and they know the responsibility to play for this club and they know the expectations when not going well and you have one bad result or in this case three and knowing the profile of the media in this country that is what they feel.”
