Mourinho says Memphis may stay

Jose Mourinho says Memphis Depay could still have a future at Manchester United and will feature in the first team if he is doesn't leave in January.

The Dutch international, who moved to Old Trafford from PSV Eindhoven in a £28m deal in the summer of 2015, has not featured in a matchday squad for over a month.

Mourinho said last week that he hadn't selected him because he expects him to leave in January, but acknowledged on Saturday that the 22-year-old may not now be sold.

Everton were reportedly primed to make a bid for the winger, who has made just four Premier League appearances this season, but none has materialised so far.

"I was informed by the club that there is a chance Memphis could leave. From a human point of view, I cannot stop him from leaving when he is not playing under me," the Portuguese said.

"If he is staying, I would be more than happy because he is a fantastic guy and a very good player. I feel so sorry that I am not giving him opportunities to play. A player of his age needs to be playing matches.

"If he stays with me, for sure, he will play some games because we have so many matches."

In other United transfer news, Patrice Evra's agent says he could still stay at Juventus despite the rumours linking him with a move back to Old Trafford.

Evra won five Premier League titles, three League Cups and a Champions League in his seven-and-a-half years with Manchester United before his 2014 move to Juve, where he added two Serie A titles to bring his medal haul to seven domestic titles in nine seasons.

The 35-year-old has made just six appearances in Serie A this season after losing his place to Alex Sandro, but the France international's agent, Federico Pastorello, says his client could remain in Turin and see out the final six months of his contract.

"It's not certain he will leave Juventus," Pastorello told Juvenews.eu.

"We'll see what happens over the next few days."
