Mourinho warns Real off de Gea

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has warned Real Madrid to forget about signing goalkeeper David de Gea.

The Spaniard came close to joining Madrid in 2015 only for the deal to fall through due to an issue with the paperwork, but he continues to be linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Mourinho, however, has told his former club to look elsewhere for a new goalkeeper.

“I see him [De Gea] here,” Mourinho told La Sexta ahead of United's Champions League last 16 second leg match against Sevilla at Old Trafford. “I do not know Real Madrid’s intentions but, if I were them, I would think of another player.”

De Gea has 18 months to run on his contract at Old Trafford and he will be free to speak to foreign clubs in January if he does not agree a new deal.
