Neuer signs Bayern extension

Manuel Neuer has signed a new five-year deal with Bayern Munich which will keep him at the Allianz Arena until 2021.

The German international joined the club ahead of the 2011-12 season and enjoyed much success at the Allianz Arena, winning three league titles, two DFB-Pokals and the Champions League in 2013.

There had been speculation that he would follow Pep Guardiola to Manchester City, but he has following in the footsteps of Jerome Boateng, Thomas Muller, David Alaba and Javi Martinez by committing his future to the German champions.

"I feel fit and well," he said. "I know that I have to look after my health, but turning 30 is no reason to start considering the end of my career.

"I love playing football every day. I love working hard, I love training, I love the games, I love the challenge."
