Roger Varian has claimed a second victory in five years in the Pretty Polly Stakes at The Curragh with success for Nezwaah under Andrea Atzeni.
Following the win Paddy Power has shortened the odds on the Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum-owned from 25/1 to 8/1 for the Darley Yorkshire Oaks on 25 August and also from 12/1 to 5/1 for the Qatar Nassau Stake on 3 August.
Rain Goddess took second from Turret Rocks.
Varian’s previous win in the race came back in 2013 when Ambivalent took the win, and went on to win the Midelton Stakes at York in 2014.
Nezwaah will now be watched closely with further outing coming up in the Kilboy Estate Stakes at the Curragh also the Juddmonte International Stakes at York.
“She travelled beautifully into the race and picked up really well like a nice filly. She was very impressive,” said Atzeni.
“There’s loads of options for her now over here, Europe and America and she’s obviously a classy filly. She’s improving all the time."
