No Swansea approach for Poyet

Swansea are yet to make an approach for AEK Athens manager Gus Poyet, according to the Greek club.

The former Sunderland boss has stated that he would be interested in a return to the Premier League, but a spokesman for AEK says that no approach has been made as yet for the 48 year-old.

"We have not been approached by Swansea, there is no need for us to be approached and no propositions have been made from Swansea," the spokesman said.

"Mr Poyet is happy at the club and will be our manager at least until the end of the season."

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins is understood to abroad on club business looking for a replacement for Garry Monk who was sacked last week following a poor run of results.

Among the names linked with the Liberty Stadium hot seat are former Argentina and Chile coach Marcelo Bielsa and Sevilla manager Unai Emery.

Former Everton and Manchester United boss David Moyes has ruled himself out of the running.
