O'Brien could face Montpellier

Sean O'Brien is in line to make his Leinster return in Saturday's European Champions Cup game against Montpellier.

O'Brien has not played for the province since before he sustained a serious injury just 20 minutes into Ireland's RBS Six Nations defeat to France in February, but he came through a Leinster 'A' game last Saturday and has been cleared to face the Top 14 side in round two of the Champions Cup.

A decision on Johnny Sexton's availability will be left until Friday as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury.

Sexton was ruled out of the win over Castres after feeling a tightness in his hamstring during training but although he was back running by Saturday morning Leo Cullen could decide not to risk him at the weekend.

Rhys Ruddock has been ruled out as a result of the torn calf he suffered against Castres, while Tadhg Furlong is a major doubt because of a hamstring problem.

Conor McGregor will fight Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight belt at UFC 205 in New York on November 12 live on the eir Sport pack. The eir Sport pack is free to all eir broadband customers. To learn more about setting sport free visit www.eir.ie/sport .
