O'Connor calls it a day

Cork's Donncha O'Connor is to retire from inter-county football.

O'Connor did not make an official statement but Sunday's All-Ireland SFC qualifier defeat to Tyrone will mark the last time he lines out for the Rebels at senior level.

The 37-year-old won four Munster titles, three Allianz Football League crowns as well the 2010 All-Ireland.

The only confirmation of O'Connor's retirement came from his club, who paid tribute to the player on Twitter.

“Ballydesmond GAA Club wishes our Clubman @thedonch2012 every health, happiness, and enjoyment in the future on his retirement from @OfficialCorkGAA. What a servant to the Cork cause. A true great, and a total gentleman on and off the field. Thanks for the wonderful memories," Ballydesmond GAA tweeted.
