Mesut Ozil is looking forward to linking up with Alexandre Lacazette after the forward joining from Lyon earlier this week.
The France international finally completed his long-anticipated switch to the Gunners for a club record £44.5m, a fee which surpassed the £42.5 Arsenal paid to Real Madrid to secure Ozil's signature in 2013.
Lacazette scored 37 goals in all competitions last season and his signing could compensate for Alexis Sanchez, if the Chilean departs this summer.
Ozil is also the subject of many rumours regarding his future as like Sanchez, he has yet to extend his contract which expires in 12 months.
However, the German was giving nothing away when he expressed his pleasure at his new team-mate's arrival.
“I am really looking forward to it. He is a very good striker who has scored many goals in Ligue 1, not just this season but in previous seasons too. We are really happy to have such a class striker here with us,” he said on Arsenal Player.
“From what I have heard he is meant to be very good, always hungry for goals and ice-cold when he gets into a scoring position. My friends who follow the French league know him well and have told me that I will definitely have fun with him on the pitch.
“I hope that he will be able to take us further with his goals. I am sure he is happy to be here and to be able to play with us, and we are pleased to be able to assist him and help him to score as many goals as possible.
Lacazette is the second purchase of the summer by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger following the recruit of left-back Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer from Schalke.
