Ozil hits back at exit claims

Mesut Ozil has dismissed rumours that he will leave Arsenal if Arsene Wenger continues as manager.

Spanish weekly sports magazine Don Balon claimed on Monday that the Germany international was unhappy at his lack of success at Arsenal and would seek a return to La Liga should Wenger remain in charge.

Ozil, however, has taken to Twitter to deny the reports.

"Have seen the media reports today. Arsene Wenger was a big reason for me joining Arsenal - this hasn't changed! #Respect #AFC" he tweeted.

Wenger has come under pressure in recent weeks following the club's exit from the FA Cup and Champions League, while supporters are unhappy at the Gunners' slipping 11 points behind Leicester in the Premier League.
