Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has ruled out selling Wilfried Zaha to Tottenham.
Tottenham are reported to be interested in signing the winger before the transfer deadline, with Zaha telling Pardew that he would like to move to White Hart Lane.
Palace chairman Steve Parish has informed Tottenham that the 23-year-old is not for sale and Pardew is hopeful that he will still be at Selhurst Park on September 1.
"Wilf came and saw me, he believed there was interest from Tottenham. I said we have to see what the bid is. We didn’t put his name out there," Pardew told reporters at his weekly press conference.
"The chairman has put the full stop on the deal. That’s the right thing for us. He was our player of the year, fans’ favourite and I’m keen to keep him."
Zaha was bought by Manchester United in January 2013 but he struggled to break into the first team following Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement and returned to Palace on a permanent deal in February 2015.
"I don’t even know what the bid is," Pardew said when asked about Spurs' bid for the player. "I didn’t even ask.
"I've worked with Zaha. He’s improved under my management, the club have done well to bring him back here. He's playing great football. I hope that doesn’t stop going forward. The chairman has made his position clear and I stand by that."
