Mayo midfielder Tom Parsons could miss the rest of the Championship summer after dislocating his knee in Sunday's Connacht SFC quarter-final defeat to Galway.
Parsons was stretchered off during the second half of Mayo's 1-12 to o-12 defeat at MacHale Park following a collision with Galway's Eoghan Kerin.
“He has a knee dislocation but I am not sure of the extent," Mayo boss Stephen Rochford said after the match.
Johnny Heaney scored an injury-time goal as the Tribemen beat Mayo for the third summer in a row, in front of a bumper crowd of 29,449 in Castlebar.
Mayo played much of the match with 14 men after Diarmuid O'Connor was shown a straight red card late in the first half for elbowing Paul Conroy in the face.
Kevin Walsh's side will now meet Sligo in the semi-final on 3 June, while last season's All-Ireland finalists head into the qualifiers the following weekend.
