Dimitri Payet has told West Ham that he wants to leave the club, manager Slaven Bilic has revealed.
Payet scored 15 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions after joining West Ham from Marseille in June 2016, but he has struggled to reproduce that form this season.
Having starred for France at Euro 2016, Payet has regularly been linked with a move away from West Ham and he cast doubt over his future last month when he expressed a desire to play in the Champions League.
Bilic has now revealed that the 29-year-old is refusing to play for the club as he tries to force a transfer, but the manager is adamant he will not be sold.
"Let's get serious. I have a situation with a player. It is Dimitri Payet. He wants to leave," Bilic told reporters ahead of Saturday's Premier League game against Crystal Palace.
"We have said we don't want to sell our best players but Dimitri Payet does not want to play for us. We are not going to sell him
"I spoke to the Chairman and this is not a money issue. We gave him a long contract because we want him to stay."
Bilic added: "This team, the staff, we gave him everything, we were always there for him. I feel let down. I feel angry.
"I don't think he will go this window but it will be hard to keep him happy.
"I expect from him to come back and to show commitment and determination to the team like the team has shown to him.
"We aren’t going to sell him, not whatsoever. It’s not a money issue or anything. We want to keep our best players."
