Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has confirmed Pedro suffered “multiple fractures” and concussion during the Premier League's pre-season win over Arsenal in Beijing.
The 29-year-old Spanish forward was taken off during the first half of Chelsea's 3-0 win over the Gunners in Beijing after a heavy collision with goalkeeper David Ospina, and Conte says he will fly home from China to recover from his injuries.
"The situation was more serious than I thought because I hoped it would only be concussion and instead he had multiple fractures," Conte said.
But the former Italy boss, speaking to the media in Singapore ahead of Chelsea's clash with German champions Bayern Munich, expects Pedro to be return to full training next week.
"With a mask, and in around 10 days, he can come back to work with us," he confirmed.
Conte also said that Colombia international goalkeeper Ospina was not at fault for the Spaniard's injuries.
"No, absolutely not. I was a player and I know these type of accidents can happen. Ospina tried to take the ball," he continued.
Alvaro Morata, Chelsea's club record £58million signing, is expected to feature against Bayern Munich after flying in to Singapore on Sunday.
