Mauricio Pochettino has agreed a new contract with Tottenham which will tie him to the club until 2021.
Pochettino has three years to run on his existing contract but the Argentinian has verbally agreed to extend his stay by a further two years.
The former Argentina defender, who moved to White Hart Lane from Southampton in 2014, has guided Tottenham to second place in the Premier League and still in with a chance of catching leaders Leicester City.
He has been linked with a move away but he has agreed to remain at Tottenham for five more years.
"It’s an easy decision. When you are happy and when you feel the love of the people and the potential of the club is massive. Why change?" Pochettino told a news conference.
"We create a good atmosphere on the training ground and I think we can achieve big things in the future. I believe in this project and this club. I want to stay here."
He went on: "We started to speak before, a few months ago, and today I think is a good moment to communicate we have reached the verbal agreement.
"I am very happy. I wanted to stay for many reasons. Tottenham have unbelievable potential. We created after two years here a great group of players.
"We have a very strong squad, young, with potential to be a top team. The staff and the supporters are unbelievable, there is massive potential, why not stay here?"
