Pochettino organised Ferguson meeting

Mauricio Pochettino is reported to have been the one to organise a meeting with Sir Alex Ferguson on Tuesday.

Pochettino and his assistant Jesus Perez were photographed leaving a London restaurant with Ferguson before the latter travelled to Upton Park to watch Manchester United's Premier League game against West Ham.

The meeting sent the rumour mill into overdrive as the Argentinian has been linked with a move to Old Trafford should Louis van Gaal leave the club but Press Association has reported that it was Pochettino who organised the meeting and was open with Tottenham regarding his plans.

Pochettino has verbally agreed a new five-year deal with Tottenham and as he announced the two-year extension he referenced Ferguson's long reign at United.

"Sir Alex Ferguson is a very special person. He was given the security to build his legacy at Manchester United," he told reporters on April 29. "But I believe we are special too and we can build it here together."

Pochettino is expected to finalise the new deal in the coming days.
