Premier League honour for Vardy

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has been named the Premier League's Player of the Season.

Vardy's 24 goals this term proved crucial to the Foxes as they were crowned Premier League champions, just a year after battling relegation, and he will be hoping to add the Golden Boot to his list of achievements as he trails Harry Kane by one goal heading into the final game.

Leicester team-mates Riyad Mahrez, Wes Morgan, N'Golo Kante and Kasper Schmeichel were shortlisted for the prize along with Tottenham's Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Toby Alderweireld. Mesut Ozil and West Ham's Dimitri Payet were also nominated for the award.
