West Brom manager Tony Pulis has called for the Football Association to consider introducing retrospective bans for divers.
The FA currently has the power to use video evidence to punish players who commit fouls which are unseen by the match officials and there have been growing calls for the governing body to introduce a similar rule for those caught diving.
The matter is once again in the headlines after Hull's Robert Snodgrass was awarded a penalty during the first-half of his side's 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday, only for replays to show that defender Scott Dann had managed to pull out of the challenge.
Snodgrass apologised for the incident, claiming he was trying to ride an anticipated tackle, but Pulis believes the FA should be in a position to impose a three-match suspension on divers.
"We have retrospective stuff on tackles. And we should have retrospective decisions on people who dive," Pulis explained.
"They should be banned for three games, that will soon stop it.
"Sometimes they do it out of instinct but you don't want players to dive.
"They have it for challenges, why not do it for this?"
