Raikkonen agrees Ferrari stay

Driver commits for 2017 season

Kimi Raikkonen will remain with Ferrari until the end of the 2017 Formula 1 season.

Raikkonen's contract had been due to expire at the end of the year but the team have confirmed that he has signed a new deal to drive alongside Sebastian Vettel for another year.

It will be Raikkonen's fourth successive season with Ferrari having returned to the team ahead of the 2014 season.

“Scuderia Ferrari announces that it has renewed its technical and racing agreement with Kimi Raikkonen. The driver line-up for the 2017 racing season will still consist of the Finnish driver and Sebastian Vettel," a statement from the team read.

Raikkonen's Formula 1 career began with Sauber in 2001 and following spells with McLaren and Lotus he moved to Ferrari in 2007, going on to claim the drivers' championship in his first year with the team.
