Aaron Ramsey paid tribute to Alexandre Lacazette after the big-money signing helped Arsenal maintain their 100% Premier League home record at the Emirates with both goals in a convincing 2-0 victory on Monday night.
Arsene Wenger's side were a cut above their opponents for much of the game, although the Baggies hit the post through Jay Rodriguez, and the former Southampton forward also saw a header cleared off the line by Nacho Monreal.
Lacazette put the north London side ahead on 19 minutes when he reacted first to Ben Foster's save from Alexis Sanchez's free-kick via the crossbar, and nodded home into the unguarded net.
The France striker then doubled the lead on 66 minutes, coolly slotting past Foster from 12 yards after Ramsey had been fouled in the penalty area by Baggies' defender Allan Nyon, and the Wales international says his new team-mate is a "fantastic" addition to the squad.
"We know all about their team," he told BBC Sport.
"They are very organised but our application was good tonight.
"Alexandre Lacazette has made a fantastic start. He is a fantastic player and we are lucky to have him.
"We want to make this a fortress and we have three wins here now. Hopefully that can continue.
"I was far up the pitch so I am not sure [if West Brom should have had a penalty] but there are hundreds of decisions referees have to make in a game. I think he had a solid game."
There's no Champions League for Arsenal for the first time in 21 years, but you can watch the Gunners face BATE Borisov at the Borisov Stadium in the Europa League on Thursday, 28 September, a match which will be shown live on eir Sport 2 [kick off 6pm]
