Randolph upbeat despite Leicester defeat

West Ham goalkeeper Darren Randolph says confidence in the dressing-room remains high despite Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Leicester.

Slaven Bilic's side lie eight points clear of the Premier League relegation zone, despite the New Year's Eve defeat to Claudio Ranieri's side at the King Power Stadium. after three successive wins against Burnley, Hull and Swansea City in December.

Randolph, who was beaten for only the second time in four matches by Islam Slimani's headed winner at Leicester, says West Ham are ready "to push on again" against Manchester United at the London Stadium on Monday.

"If we'd won, I'd have said we'd 100 percent have turned the corner, because it would have put a little bit of extra space between Leicester and us and the other teams below us," he told the club's official website.

"It would have been four wins in a row, but it wasn't to be so we'll regroup and get ready for the next one.

"It was a tough start to the season, but the last few results obviously helped us a bit, so we go into the new year and will start fresh and push on again."

West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan says the club are working to bring in some new faces during the transfer window.

The Hammers signed Manuel Lanzini, Ashley Fletcher, Quina, Havard Nordtveit, Antonio Martinez, Andre Ayew, Arthur Masuaku, Edimilson Fernandes and Alvaro Arbeloa during the summer, and brought in Gokhan Tore, Simone Zaza and Jonathan Calleri on loan, and Sullivan hopes to be active in the market again in January.

"Our first challenge will be the January transfer window of course, and I can assure you all that there is already lots of work going on behind the scenes to get some positive deals across the line," he told the club's official website.
