Report: O'Neill and Keane offered Stoke gig

It's being reported that Ireland management team Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane have been offered the vacant managerial roles at Stoke.

Manager O'Neill and his assistant were second-choice behind Espanyol manager Quique Sanchez Flores; however, with Flores committing his immediate future to the Catalan club, the Ireland duo are now Stoke's No 1 target, according to The Telegraph.

O'Neill and Keane have agreed an extension of their deal with the FAI until the European Championships in 2020, but this agreement is merely verbal, with a written contract yet to be signed.

Ireland next play in March when they take on Turkey in a friendly in Antalya.

Stoke are currently 18th in the Premier League table, and managerless since the sacking of Keane's former Manchester United team-mate Mark Hughes on 6 January. They travel to face Man U at Old Trafford on Monday evening.
