Ricciardo fastest in Monaco

Daniel Ricciardo was top of the timesheets at the end of second free practice for the Monaco Grand Prix.

The Australian posted a 1:14.607 lap in his Red Bull to finish 0.606seconds ahead of reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton, with the second Mercedes of Nico Rosberg three tenths back.

Ricciardo's team-mate Max Verstappen was fourth, while the Toro Rosso pair of Daniil Kvyat and Carlos Sainz Jr fifth and sixth respectively.

Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen was seventh but it proved to be a frustrating afternoon for his team-mate Sebastian Vettel as the German spun at Mirabeau before hitting the wall at Ste Devote. He was able to continue and clocked the ninth fastest time of the afternoon, with Sergio Perez's Force India taking eighth.

Jenson Button finished tenth for McLaren.
