Robshaw to miss Six Nations

Former England captain Chris Robshaw will miss the upcoming RBS Six Nations.

Robshaw had emerged as a doubt for the opening game against France on February 4 after aggravating an existing shoulder problem playing for Harlequins against Worcester Warriors in the Aviva Premiership on New Year's Day.

However, he has been advised to undergo surgery which will see him miss up to 12 weeks.

"Christ Robshaw will undergo surgery on his left shoulder today to repair an injury sustained in the match against Worcester Warriors on New Year's Day," Harlequins confirmed in a statement.

"He is expected to be out of competitive action for around 12 weeks.

"Harlequins will provide relevant updates on his progress as appropriate."

England head coach Eddie Jones has a number of injury concerns ahead of the tournament with Billy and Mako Vunipola also ruled out due to knee injuries, while Joe Launchbury will definitely miss the France game because of a calf problem.

Joe Marler is struggling with a calf problem with James Haskell suffering a concussion less than a minute into his comeback for Wasps following a seven-month injury lay-off.
