Stephen Rochford has agreed a two-year extension to stay on as Mayo football manager until 2020.
Rochford took some time out to consider his position following Mayo's disappointing one-point All-Ireland SFC final defeat to Dublin at Croke Park on 17 September.
But the Crossmolina native, whose original term was set to expire at the end of 2018, has now agreed to stay on for another two years in charge of the Yew County.
"Following a meeting of the Mayo County Board in Elvery's MacHale Park tonight [Wednesday] Mayo football manager Stephen Rochford has been given a two-year extension to his current deal meaning he has been ratified until 2020," a Mayo County Boaard statement read.
"All involved with Mayo GAA thank Stephen and his team for the all the time and hard work already contributed to the Mayo Senior Football team and are delighted he has committed to Mayo GAA for the coming years."
Mayo have lost all nine All-Ireland finals they have contested since the Yew County last won the Sam Maguire in 1951, including four in the last six years, and two-in-a-row under Rochford in 2016 and 2017.
