Everton midfielder Davy Klassen says he is already enjoying playing with "world-class striker" Wayne Rooney.
Klassen, who completed his £25m move to Everton from Ajax earlier this month, linked well with his fellow summer signing Rooney on their first appearance together in Wednesday's 3-0 friendly win over FC Twente.
'He is a quick thinker and I like that. He looks for me when I make my runs into the area," the Dutch international told the Daily Mail.
"It is not all that difficult to combine with Wayne. He is a world-class striker who has joined us and is playing in front of me.
"I thought that it was great he came to play for Everton. I was delighted when I heard the news that he was coming back."
Toffees' defender Michael Keane says he and his team-mates are already counting down the hours to Everton first competitive match of the season, in the Europa League third-round qualifier against Brann or Ruzemberok at Goodison Park next Thursday.
"It's next week and it's going to come around quick," the 24-year-old new signing from Burnley said.
"We haven't had long to prepare like you do in most pre-seasons, so it feels a bit crammed in – but you've got to get everything out of it.
"You can't play 90 minutes straight away – you have to work your way up slowly, but I think all the lads are looking good."
In other Everton news, Argentine defender Ramiro Funes Mori is set to be sidelined for up to nine months following knee surgery on the injury the 26-year-old sustained on international duty in March.
"Ramiro Funes Mori has had a problem within his knee and has undergone further surgery in Barcelona which will require prolonged rehabilitation of a minimum of six to nine months," a club statement read.
The Toffees play their final game of the pre-season tour against Belgium's KRC Genk on Saturday before the first leg of their Europa League qualifier on 27 July.
