Ryan named Offaly manager

Kevin Ryan is the new manager of the Offaly senior hurlers.

The Kilcormac/Killoughey club delegates had argued for Danny Owens to be named as Eamonn Kelly's successor, but the Offaly County Board ratified Ryan's appointment at a meeting on Tuesday evening.

Ryan, who has previously managed Carlow, Antrim and Tyrone, will name his backroom team at a later date.

The County Board also ratified Pat Flanagan's reappointment as manager of the Offaly senior footballers.
