Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho has opened up about his falling out with manager Jurgen Klopp during the club's pre-season tour of the United States.
The France international has been frozen out of the first team since he was sent home from the Merseysiders' pre-season tour of the USA for disciplinary issues.
He has been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield but it is thought his wages are proving a stumbling block.
Reflecting on his falling out with Klopp, the 26-year-old admits he broke club rules and is working hard to ensure he is ready for when he finally gets the chance to play again.
"It is true that I turned up late. There was a rule that I should have observed. I do not at all see myself as above the rules, I respect everyone," Sakho told Canal Football Club.
"I paid my fine, I was sanctioned, I apologised to my team-mates and my manager. Aside from that… I do not want to go into the controversies.
"I work a lot, I have the chance to train with the reserve team, which allows me to keep up. And beside that I have my trainer. So I work a lot to stay on top of my game."
